Recovery

This section shows how to recover the system when the system fails.

Currently, there is no automated procedure to recover the Distributed Lock Service on systems that have failed when using resilient mode, as the lock table or OS file locks cannot be easily resynchronized with the current primary lock server and guarantee that all locks will be valid.

Once the failed system is recovered and the Distributed Lock service restarted, all remote client processes will need to exit and then reconnect using the jDLS environment variable configuration in order to use the original Distributed Lock Service configuration and renew communication with the restarted Distributed Lock Service.

This procedure ensures that all locks are released and retaken such that the lock table and/or OS file locks on both Distributed Lock Service systems are correctly synchronized.
