Customer Data Protection

Customer Data Protection (CDP) ensures that customer data is erased from all data storages on request. DLM supports data erasure in the RO database as part of CDP. This section provides the details about the applications or processes involved in the DLM CDP erasure process with sample screen captures.

Any date field in an application is considered as partition date in the DLM table which is used for partition creation. This cannot be erased, hence the Partition Date field defined in a DLM table is not allowed to be configured in CDP definition.

DL.TRIGGER.ERASURE API is invoked during the CDP erasure process. If an application is enabled for DLM, has erasure configured and erasure ID in the RO table, the erasure ID is captured in DL.ERASURE.PROCESS.LIST. The erasure ID format is Todaydate_Livefilename_Rofilename_today_Application_ERASURE_UNIQUEKEY.

XMLRECORD contains the RECID of the application.

DL.ERASURE.PROCESS is the activation service, which reads the ID from DL.ERASURE.PROCESS.LIST and updates the respective record in RODB. The same record will be deleted from the LIVE database. In case of any errors during the process, the details are captured in the RO.ERROR.KEYLIST table.

To enable CDP, you need to enable and execute the following.

Application/Process Performed By Functionality

DE.O.HEADER

User

Enables DLM process

DLM.INITIATE.PROCESS

DL.COPY.PROCESS

User

Move the data to DLM

CZ.ERASURE.PROCESS

User

Enables erasure process

DL.ERASURE.PROCESS.LIST

System

Captures the DE.O.HEADER record during the erasure process

You need to perform a FUNDS.TRANSFER transaction with Delivery Reference option set to Y, to create an entry in the DE.O.HEADER application.

The following screen captures provide sample for the processes involved in CDP.

  • Data movement using DLM.INITIATE.PROCESS and DL.COPY.PROCESS
  • CZ.ERASURE.PROCESS

  • Key list created in DLM.ERASURE.PROCESS.LIST
  • DL.ERASURE.PROCESS
  • Successful processing and deletion of DLM.ERASURE.PROCESS.LIST key list
  • RO record updated with erasure changes
