Introduction

The Stack 9 Cloud Azure Runbook describes how to create an environment using Kubernetes services on Azure .

Architecture

Prerequisites

The following sections describe the prerequisites for using this runbook.

Knowledge

You should have some understanding of the standard deployment model for Transact.

Due to the network separation that has been performed to adhere to good security practices, you should also have some knowledge of system architecture. A basic knowledge of Kubernetes is desirable but not required.

Access rights

You need to confirm that you have the access to the following resources before you attempt to follow the runbook. You should be able to:

  • Access the various scripts you will be using to set up the required Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS).

  • Set up a user workspace in Azure Cloud Shell.

ACR images

Before you attempt to carry out the procedures described in this runbook, ensure that the images included in the pack that accompanied this runbook are hosted in an accessible ACR.

Command line tools

You will need command line tools to run commands – the Linux environment must have both the Azure CLI tool and Kube Client installed.

NOTE: These tools are already available from the Azure CLI, which was used to produce this document, including its procedures.
