Introduction to Cash and Till Processing
As a banking practice in China, all the banks sends the request to PBOC (People's Bank of China) for the cash that are required to provide service to the customer. Once the cash are received from PBOC, it will be placed in the vault located either in the head office or region. From there, it would be disbursed to various branch tills. The Chief Teller, who manages the cash in the branch will further disburse the cash to the teller and monitor the cash flow, limit etc.
Manage the flow of cash from PBOC, which is a central bank in China to headquarters or region and from there further down to the branches.
The internal maintenance of cash within the branch after the cash is received from PBOC and how the setup can be done by the branch for the smooth cash movement within the branch and for other cash related internal operations like Till Set up, Teller Assignment etc.
The Cash and Till Processing features provide the following functionality:
- Bank sends the request to PBOC for the cash required for its business, and available in its account with PBOC for withdrawal.
- Cash would be received in the respective headquarters or region vault, designated to receive cash from PBOC.
- Once received, the cash would then be dispersed to the branches.
- The Chief Teller, who manages the cash at the branch level, collects the cash in the till and disburse it to various tellers. His role is to manage and control the till, limit.
- The Chief Teller has the control on opening, closure, reassignment of their internal cash tills.
- Enable bank to have internal cash transfer within the tills.
- When PBOC requires cash from banks in china, the cash would be sent to PBOC from vault in HQ or region.
